Conference Theme: Inspired to Loving Action

The Transformative Power of Near-Death and Related Experiences

Theme Description: Near-death experiences (NDEs) and related experiences often inspire and nurture compassion, creativity, and curiosity, leading to closer relationships, deeper spiritual practices, and generosity toward others. Opening to a sense of oneness of life and purpose creates positive repercussions. Inspired loving action can include experiencers sharing their NDEs and related experiences, researchers helping the world better understand such experiences and their implications, healthcare professionals responding constructively to patients' and clients' reports of such experiences, and educators sharing this significant knowledge with the public. IANDS’s 2023 Conference presenters will touch on the myriad of ways that NDEs and related experiences have inspired loving action in the realm of relationships, education, research, healthcare, creative expression, and spirituality.

Conference Dates: August 30, 2023 through September 3, 2023 in Arlington, VA

Deadline to Submit Proposal: February 10th by 11:59 pm ET-No Extensions

Please submit all requested items. Only complete forms will be considered. Your form must be timestamped as at or before 11:59 pm ET to be considered. We request that all presenters attend in-person. Special circumstances will be considered.

Additional Information

New experiencers, new researchers, podcasters, business owners, authors, artists, coaches, mediums, psychics, and all other people within the spiritually transformative community are encouraged to submit a proposal. Preference will be given to presentations that most closely address the conference theme. Most presentations will be scheduled with one or two concurrent sessions. Presenters will receive a 75% discount (panelists receive 60% discount) off the conference registration fee. Presenters are responsible for their own transportation and hotel expenses. By submitting the conference proposal form you are agreeing to attend the conference in-person. Recordings of presentations will not be accepted. Scholarships are available to assist anyone who wants to present but does not have the funds to attend in person.

You may show presentation materials on a large screen for most of the options below. Laptops and internet access will be available. If you wish to distribute printed materials, you will need to print those materials and bring them to the conference with you.LECTURE: This is a 60-minute time block and includes a question-and-answer session. Presenters may use this option for lecture only, lecture with visual/audio aids, case studies, and/or small group discussion. This is for individual presenters.NDE NARRATIVE: This is a 60-minute time block for the presentation of individual NDE (or other related experience) narratives. If to be considered for an NDEr/other panel, please specify that below. NDE Narrative Panels have three presenters that are allotted twenty-minutes each to share their narrative.WORKSHOP: This is two or more hours in length. If you have a topic that is instructional or experiential in nature and deserves an extended presentation time, then you may apply to offer a workshop. Workshops are priced separately from the registration fee and are generally offered at times outside the ordinary presentation schedule.PANEL DISCUSSION: This is a 60-minute time block: Two or more speakers will be presenting different perspectives or different aspects of the presentation topic. And/or the panel will sequentially summarize their work and relate it to that of the other panelists. This will be followed by a question and answer session.POSTER PRESENTATION/ART SUBMISSIONS: This is a 60-minute time block wherein presenters will present to six different groups of attendees in ten-minute blocks of time. Presenters should plan to have a ten-minute talk prepared to present. Questions and answers will occur after the session. Poster presenters will present their topic on a 3' x 4' poster. Artists are responsible for shipping and displaying their own artwork (some restrictions apply).MUSIC AND DANCE/MOVEMENT: Pitch us your idea.
