From First Responder to Last Responder

About the event

What happens when the person whose job it was to keep you alive learns that death was never the enemy?

In this deeply personal and practically grounded talk, Danielle Slupeksy shares her journey from emergency room nurse to death doula, anchored by a near-death experience that transformed everything she thought she knew about living and dying. Her presentation moves through three phases: life on the front lines of emergency medicine, where death was the enemy; the NDE that cracked that worldview open; and the work she now does helping individuals and families approach death with intention, grace, and dignity.

This talk is for anyone who has ever felt the tension between knowing, on some level, that death is not the end, and still feeling unprepared, afraid, or uncertain about how to face it or talk about it. Danielle offers both the inspiration of lived experience and practical guidance for preparing for death consciously, including how to start conversations with loved ones, what end-of-life wishes and documents to have in place, and how to be present with someone who is dying.

At the heart of this presentation is a powerful shift in perspective: death is not a failure, it is a passage. This is not a talk about fear. It is a talk about what becomes possible when we stop looking away. Attendees will leave with greater clarity, real language for conversations many families avoid, and a deeper understanding of how facing death openly can make life richer, more intentional, and more free.

About danielle

Danielle Slupeksy has spent her life caring for others, beginning as an EMT at age 18 and later serving as an ER nurse. In 2013, a life-threatening illness and near-death experience transformed her understanding of life and death. Months of recovery taught her surrender, resilience, and deep compassion for those facing serious illness and end-of-life.

Today, as a death doula, Danielle guides individuals and families through these vulnerable transitions, helping them plan, make informed choices, and approach death with love, courage, and dignity. Her purpose and passion are to support her clients and their families through this natural passage with peace, meaning, and grace.

Danielle holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cal State Hayward and is a Certified End-of-Life Guide and Death Doula through the Conscious Dying Institute.

Imagination Creates Reality

After a near-death experience transformed her understanding of reality, identity, and suffering, Lisa Everhart now shares a powerful message of inner change and conscious creation. In this inspiring session, she explores how shifting perception can help us move beyond fear and begin shaping a more beautiful life.

About the event

In this thought-provoking presentation, Lisa Everhart shares how her near-death experience opened a profound new understanding of reality, identity, and suffering. What she encountered changed the way she saw life itself, revealing that we are not simply at the mercy of circumstances, but active participants in shaping our personal experience.

A central theme of Lisa’s message is the reframing of suffering—not as the end of the story, but as part of the bridge to transformation. By shifting perception, she shows how fear can begin to loosen, making way for greater clarity, peace, and a more conscious way of living.

Lisa also explores how identity shapes reality. When we change who we believe ourselves to be, our experience of life begins to change as well. Drawing from her own journey, as well as her background in psychology, subconscious reprogramming, and Neville Goddard’s teachings, she offers a perspective on how to step out of repeating patterns and begin choosing a new way of being.

Using the idea of “living from the end,” Lisa invites attendees to consider what becomes possible when we no longer live in fear of the unknown. When we trust more deeply in where the story is leading, the uncertainty of the middle begins to lose its power.

Join Lisa for an inspiring and empowering session that offers a renewed perspective on suffering, identity, and the creative power within each of us—along with simple tools for beginning to shape a more aligned and beautiful life.

Open Spirituality Group

This is a safe space for respectful open discussion of whatever Spirituality means to you. Open Spirituality has zero dogma or doctrine. It’s about a personal relationship with the Divine with zero requirements other than your intent to connect with like-minded people for stimulating conversation. Open Spirituality is a “non-religion.” It’s a place to share spiritual experiences and beliefs without a religious context. Religious contexts like churches, synagogues, mosques, and such are often the only place where people feel comfortable discussing spiritual concepts, but those places often feel artificially constrained once one has had an NDE or an STE. This group is for people who consider themselves spiritual but who may not be comfortable with traditional religions and religious beliefs and practices.

Open Spirituality Sharing Group
4th Sundays at 1 pm ET/ 10 am PT

The Open Spirituality group is an open gathering space for those who are looking for a place to share personal spiritual perspectives without dogma or doctrine, where everyone respects differing beliefs and perspectives.

The conversation will include our usual open discussion of everything spiritual where nothing is off-limits.

—————

What does spirituality mean to you? How has your understanding of spirituality evolved? How has spirituality challenged you in this life? This monthly group is a safe space for respectful open discussion of whatever Spirituality means to you.

Open Spirituality has NO dogma or doctrine. It’s about having a personal relationship with the Divine with zero requirements other than your intent to connect with like-minded people for stimulating spiritual conversation.

Open Spirituality is a “non-religion.” It’s a place to share spiritual experiences and beliefs without a religious context. Religious contexts like churches, synagogues, mosques, and such are often the only place where people feel comfortable discussing spiritual concepts but those places often feel artificially constrained once one has had an NDE or an STE. This group is for people who consider themselves spiritual but who may not be comfortable with traditional religions and religious beliefs and practices.

“Open Spirituality” is perhaps best defined by these quotes:

      • “Kindness is my religion.” – Dalai Lama
      • “Religion is an external practice. Spirituality is a state of mind.”
      • “Religion is about beliefs. Spirituality is about being.”
      • “The best religion is the one that brings you closest to God.”
      • “Out beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing,
        there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” – Rumi

——————

Let go of any preconceived ideas of spirituality! We explore the subject of spirituality from every conceivable perspective. This group combines open discussion with presentations and occasional guest interviews all centered around the broadest definitions of spirituality.

This group:

      • Respects and values all perspectives;
      • Is inclusive of all perspectives,
      • Welcomes all that seek to explore and investigate the mysteries of life;
      • Seeks to find the common ground that ties everything together;
      • Feels that science and spirituality are 2 sides of the same whole;
      • Sends love and understanding to all beings.

If you like subjects that are “out there” with a spiritual, philosophical, and/or theological perspective, this group is for you!

Religions generally come from an exclusive perspective that can be very limiting. Open spirituality is inclusive and it respects and values the vast diversity of perspectives we each represent.

This group is for you if ANY of the following statements resonate:

      • You feel constrained by societal boundaries/definitions of spirituality and/or religion;
      • You consider yourself ‘spiritual’ but not religious (SBNR);
      • you love your religious community, but feel there is more to spirituality;
      • You believe in the Oneness of all that is;
      • You believe in the equality of all beings;
      • You love the mystery of life/existence and you would like to explore it in more depth;
      • You love God/Source/Creator, but feel that those terms are too limiting;

The Open Spirituality group will explore and discuss the most inspiring spiritual aspects of all religious traditions, philosophies, theologies, cosmologies, and *experiences* like STEs, NDEs, OBEs, alien encounters, psychic phenomena, mediumship, the healing arts, and such.

Open Spirituality welcomes people from all faith traditions. It does not promote any particular belief or theology other than the belief that we are all spiritual beings.

Proponents are self-proclaimed and all are welcome and supported as long as they are open, inclusive, and supportive of the beliefs of others. Open Spirituality welcomes atheists and agnostics as well since the belief in the existence of a deity is a matter of personal opinion.

“Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of the opinions of others drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.” – Steve Jobs

Lastly, the following excerpt from Wikipedia seems appropriate:
Spiritual but not religious” (SBNR), also known as “spiritual but not affiliated” (SBNA), or the “Nones” are some of the phrases used to self-identify a life stance of spirituality that does not regard organized religion as the sole or most valuable means of furthering spiritual growth.

About the host, Daniel Endy:

Daniel has been on the spiritual path ever since he was a youngster. He was brought up in the Catholic religious tradition and attended Catholic schools. As with many people, Daniel was comfortable with spirituality but he had trouble with religious dogma and he sought deeper truths. As a teen, Daniel left Catholicism and became what he calls a “spiritual independent.” He searched and researched extensively finding “tidbits” of wisdom here and there at first. Over time he found his way to more and more spiritual teachings that resonated as truth for him. He believes that each person’s journey and “truth” is unique and that it evolves as each person does.

Daniel often thought of how he wanted an open community of people who were spiritual but non-dogmatic. He envisioned a group that would be welcoming and inclusive for all without limits. Open Spirituality is that dream manifested. All are welcome. All perspectives are respected. We don’t need to invalidate beliefs that we disagree with. We can all co-exist in peace.

A Psychic Medium’s NDE and the Messages Received from the Other Side

Amber Cavanagh, psychic medium and near-death experiencer, will share insights from her journey to the Other Side, with part of the presentation offering channeled guidance based on what is most needed for the audience in the moment.

About the event

Amber Cavanagh will share insights from her near-death experience and the teachings that were confirmed for her while on the Other Side. Because Amber will be channeling her guides during the presentation, some of what is shared will be guided in the moment by what is most needed for the audience.

Drawing from both her NDE and her prior work as a psychic medium, Amber will speak about what the experience of crossing over is like, the choices we make, meeting our soul and soul family, connecting with guides, and what can change when we return. She will also explore some of the deepest questions many people carry: Why are we here? What happens when we die? Will we see our loved ones again?

Through this presentation, Amber offers comfort, hope, and a broader understanding of life beyond the physical world. Attendees will be invited into a thoughtful exploration of the Other Side and the deeper meaning of our human existence.

About amber

Amber Cavanagh, known as The West Coast Medium, is a psychic medium, empath, medical intuitive, healer, animal communicator, and author. She has spent years helping people connect with loved ones in spirit and gain insight into the unseen dimensions of life.

It’s Time To Remember

Bill Letson’s near-death experience offers a grounded yet expansive look at consciousness beyond the body. Drawing from his own NDE, shared accounts from other experiencers, and ancient wisdom, Bill explores kindness, transformation, and the continuity of awareness. His story reminds us that we are all on the same journey—and that growth, understanding, and transcendence unfold when we are ready.

This presentation brings together Bill Letson’s near-death experience, the accounts of other NDEs, ancient wisdom teachings, and the hidden messages present all around us. Together, these elements form a larger picture—pieces of a cosmic puzzle waiting to be assembled. These are meaningful times, as the veil continues to lift and the “time of secrets” comes to an end.

Near-death experiencers have an important role in what is unfolding. Through their experiences, ordinary people remind us that we are all on the same journey and that each of us is equally important and deeply celebrated. Again and again, NDEs point to a universe that is unhurried, where time is an illusion and worry is unnecessary, and where every life has purpose and meaning.

In sharing his experience, Bill explores what NDEs reveal about consciousness, kindness, and transformation. His story reflects the understanding that there is a finish line—and that all of us are invited to transform and transcend when we are ready. Participants will come away with greater reassurance about life and death, a deeper sense of connection, and renewed trust in the larger unfolding of their own spiritual journey.

About Bill

Bill Letson is a retired fire captain and forester with 35 years of service. In 1994, while responding with his engine company to a severely ill patient in the Santa Barbara area, Bill was unknowingly exposed to the same illness. Within days, he was hospitalized and admitted to intensive care, where he spent the night critically dehydrated with failing vital signs.

During that night, Bill experienced a profound near-death experience. He separated from his physical body, traveled through a star-filled realm, and interacted with unusual, otherworldly beings. What followed were deeply blissful sensations of dying, encounters marked by intelligence and love, and a clear persistence of self—consciousness continuing without a physical body.

For the next 15 years, Bill quietly worked to understand what he had experienced. In 2010, recognizing the many similarities shared across NDE accounts, he began a more intentional exploration of the true nature of our earthly journey. His ongoing inquiry weaves together his near-death experience with shamanic ceremony (DMT), kundalini awakening, precession, and ancient knowledge.

Bill lives in Atascadero, California with Lia, his wife of 40 years. He enjoys time with their ranch cats, running dogs, and joyful egg-laying hens, and splits his time between California and Costa Rica.
