About the event
Dale E. Graff, former director of the government’s Star Gate remote viewing project, shares a close-to-death incident that unfolded through three powerful aspects: synchronicity, surrender, and survival.
While living in Hawaii during the Vietnam era, Dale experienced an extraordinary impulse-to-action that enabled him to locate a woman who was being swept out to sea by a rip current. He had not known anyone was in the ocean, and she was unable to call for help. Acting on this sudden impulse, he entered the water and attempted to rescue her.
As he became exhausted while trying to return to shore with her, Dale faced the terrifying possibility that they might both drown. In that moment of surrender, an OBE-like experience and renewed energy helped facilitate their return to shore.
Once on land, Dale perceived transcendental realms and received survival insights that revealed a deeper universal aspect of survival. The experience significantly affected his understanding of reality and transcendental domains, leading to dramatic shifts in his sensitivities, vocational interests, and professional work — including his later involvement with remote viewing, psi phenomena, and the Stargate project.
Even today, when Dale revisits the incident, he re-experiences vivid imagery and the powerful emotions of that close-to-death situation.
About Dale
Dale E. Graff has degrees in aeronautical engineering and physics. His professional experience includes 10 years in the aerospace industry, where he worked with the Gemini Program and advanced space system designs, and 30 years with intelligence organizations, including the Foreign Technology Division at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington, DC.
While at the Foreign Technology Division, Dale initiated FTD’s contract for remote viewing research with Stanford Research Institute in Menlo Park, California. He later became involved in the government’s Stargate project, which applied remote viewing to intelligence applications. He created the name Stargate and served as its director for several years.
A traumatic experience while rescuing someone from drowning in a rip current in Hawaii led to Dale’s interest in OBEs, NDEs, and psi phenomena, and eventually to his involvement with Stargate.
Since retirement, Dale has written two books, Tracks in the Psychic Wilderness and River Dreams, and has published articles on precognitive dreaming. He facilitates psi, remote viewing, and precognitive dream workshops, and continues to conduct independent precognitive dream research. His current interest is in the Deep Survival Impulse, and he is preparing a book on these incidents.
Dale is an active hiker, camper, and wilderness canoeist. He lives in a rural area of southeast Pennsylvania near the Appalachian Trail.
