In 2015, a hospital test took an unexpected turn: Angela Rose Harris’s heart stopped. As medical staff worked to revive her, Angela became aware of the room from a perspective she had never known before. She sensed the fear and love surrounding her, even as her attention was drawn somewhere beyond the hospital.

What followed was not darkness or blankness. Angela describes entering a velvety black void, then finding herself in an experience filled with recognition, connection, and a profound sense of homecoming. She reunites with loved ones and encounters a life review that changes how she understands the ways our lives affect one another. But the experience also opens onto a larger mystery about identity: if we can belong to something much greater, what happens to the person we know as “me”?

Angela shares the moments that transformed her understanding of consciousness, love, and what may continue beyond the body, while leaving some of the experience’s deepest mysteries for listeners to explore with her. She also reflects on the difficult return to ordinary life—and how, years later, the questions raised by her NDE continue to shape the way she lives.

BIO:
Angela Rose Harris is an author, international speaker, Certified Spiritual Director, and near-death experiencer whose work explores what extraordinary experiences reveal about consciousness, identity, love, and how we live. In 2015, during a hospital tilt-table test, her heart stopped for approximately 30 to 32 seconds. She returned with memories of awareness beyond her body, reunion with deceased loved ones, a life review, possible futures, and an expanded identity that still felt unmistakably her. A former elementary school teacher, Angela served as an IANDS Board Member and Director of Groups and Events, is an IANDS Certified Facilitator, and is Managing Editor of Vital Signs. She brings firsthand experience, years of integration, and grounded spiritual care to conversations about death, grief, transformation, and the bonds we share.
