During the last 30 years, a range of alternative approaches have been developed and tested which have three things in common: a) they originated from mental health professionals (medical doctors, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists); b) they imply – or are outright based on – the existence of an afterlife; c) have been empirically proven to greatly alleviate the suffering of grief.
