IANDS Sharing Groups are open to everyone, not just near-death experiencers. They provide a safe space to share spiritually transformative experiences and explore related topics. Of course, you’re always welcome to simply listen. All are welcome!

IANDS hosts these groups using the simple and user-friendly Zoom video conferencing program. To participate, you must create an account with IANDS Sharing Groups Online. After registering, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to join. Alternatively, you can return to the reservation page on the event date and click the “Join Event” button, which becomes active 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Our sharing groups are free for everyone! IANDS relies on charitable contributions to support staffing and administration, and we sincerely appreciate your donations to help us continue providing a meaningful group experience.

Anyone with a genuine interest in near-death and related experiences is welcome. You’re invited to share, learn, or simply listen in one of our twelve monthly sharing groups. These are safe spaces where you can engage at your own comfort level. If you prefer, you may leave your camera off until you’re ready to turn it on, but we encourage you to enter your name in your video box, even if your camera remains off.

Each group is led by a trained facilitator who will review the IANDS Sharing Group guidelines. Facilitators ensure that everyone has an opportunity to share while maintaining a safe, neutral, and respectful space for all participants.

Please note that these groups are peer-to-peer sharing spaces and do not provide counseling. Sessions last approximately 90 minutes, and to preserve the group’s sense of safety, security, and privacy, access will close 15 minutes after the scheduled start time.

Love, Loss, and Life After the Near-Death Experience

After a catastrophic car accident claimed the lives of his wife and youngest son, Jeff Olsen had a profound near-death experience that changed his understanding of life, death, grief, and love. In this moving presentation, Jeff shares the lessons he brought back from the other side: that we are eternal beings having a human experience, that grief is love, that we are never alone, and that life itself is the miracle.

About the event

What can we learn from Jeff Olsen’s profound near-death experience, and the core truths he brought back from the other side?

In 1997, Jeff Olsen was in a catastrophic car accident that claimed the lives of his wife and youngest son, leaving him with severe, life-threatening injuries. Amid the intense physical trauma, hospital experience, and overwhelming grief that followed, Jeff had a profound spiritual journey that completely changed his understanding of life, death, love, and healing.

In this presentation, Jeff will share about his life before the NDE, the accident and near-death experience itself, his time in the hospital, and the long aftermath of physical and emotional recovery. He will also speak about the life lessons that emerged from his experience, including after-death communication, dreams and visions, and the beauty and miracle found in the everyday mundane.

At the heart of Jeff’s message are the truths he came to understand through his NDE: we are eternal beings having a human experience; grief is actually love; we are never alone; and life itself is the miracle. Heaven, he learned, is not only somewhere beyond this life — it is right here, available in our relationships, our struggles, our healing, and our willingness to see the sacred in ordinary moments.

Jeff’s story is one of devastating loss, profound spiritual awakening, and the courage to continue living with an open heart. His experience invites us to consider that death is not an end, love is never lost, and even in the midst of grief, we are held by something greater.

Spread Love Through Art

After being run over by a Mack truck in 2011, Davis Haines had a near-death experience that revealed the power of Love and transformed his understanding of Art as a sacred practice. In this talk, he explores how creativity can help us heal, face our fears, and participate more fully in the Great Creation — the ongoing work of shaping our lives with God.

About the event

We are all artists. As children, we created with reckless abandon. Only in adulthood do we enforce boundaries upon ourselves.

Art is prayer. Art is sacred. It is how we collaborate with the Great Creator, with the Great Artist. With God.

When Davis Haines was run over by a Mack truck in 2011, he was saved by a man named Art. Art literally saved his life. On the Other Side, Davis learned about Love. For the past 15 years, he has been working to combine those two ideas: to discover Art as an inherently spiritual practice, and a way for us to connect to the Light of Love in ourselves, in others, and in the world around us.

In this talk, Davis will share his near-death experience and explore how art is prayer, creativity is a spiritual practice, and art can help us — and others — heal. He will also speak about how facing our fears of death and vulnerability can liberate us to live more fully on Earth, and how God is always trying to help us create our greatest work of art: our lives.

Join Davis to discuss Art and Love, and how you, too, can participate in the Great Creation.

About Davis

Davis MacLeod Haines is a musician, actor, and artist whose life was forever changed in 2011 when he was run over by a truck and given just a 1% chance of survival. That brush with death didn’t just give him a second chance; it gave him a calling.

Emerging from the experience with a profound sense of purpose, Davis has devoted his life to spreading love through art, building a career that spans music, theatre, poetry, performance, voice work, and teaching. Now back in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama, raising a family and pursuing certification as a Music Therapist, Davis brings a hard-won joy and intentionality to everything he creates.

His story is a testament to what becomes possible when we answer the call that only the edge of life can deliver.

From First Responder to Last Responder

About the event

What happens when the person whose job it was to keep you alive learns that death was never the enemy?

In this deeply personal and practically grounded talk, Danielle Slupeksy shares her journey from emergency room nurse to death doula, anchored by a near-death experience that transformed everything she thought she knew about living and dying. Her presentation moves through three phases: life on the front lines of emergency medicine, where death was the enemy; the NDE that cracked that worldview open; and the work she now does helping individuals and families approach death with intention, grace, and dignity.

This talk is for anyone who has ever felt the tension between knowing, on some level, that death is not the end, and still feeling unprepared, afraid, or uncertain about how to face it or talk about it. Danielle offers both the inspiration of lived experience and practical guidance for preparing for death consciously, including how to start conversations with loved ones, what end-of-life wishes and documents to have in place, and how to be present with someone who is dying.

At the heart of this presentation is a powerful shift in perspective: death is not a failure, it is a passage. This is not a talk about fear. It is a talk about what becomes possible when we stop looking away. Attendees will leave with greater clarity, real language for conversations many families avoid, and a deeper understanding of how facing death openly can make life richer, more intentional, and more free.

About danielle

Danielle Slupeksy has spent her life caring for others, beginning as an EMT at age 18 and later serving as an ER nurse. In 2013, a life-threatening illness and near-death experience transformed her understanding of life and death. Months of recovery taught her surrender, resilience, and deep compassion for those facing serious illness and end-of-life.

Today, as a death doula, Danielle guides individuals and families through these vulnerable transitions, helping them plan, make informed choices, and approach death with love, courage, and dignity. Her purpose and passion are to support her clients and their families through this natural passage with peace, meaning, and grace.

Danielle holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cal State Hayward and is a Certified End-of-Life Guide and Death Doula through the Conscious Dying Institute.
