What happens when a person dies – especially if that person lived a self-centered life? What do second chances and spiritual growth look like in the afterlife? Although not a near-death experiencer (NDEr) himself, Sheldon Lawrence answered those questions in his book Heaven Will Find You by consulting hundreds of NDEs. Experiencer Tricia Barker considers Sheldon’s book to accurately depict not only aspects of her own NDE but also what she knows from talking with many other NDErs. In this event, Tricia and IANDS President Jan Holden will interview Sheldon about how he prepared to write his book; surprises and challenges he encountered along the way; and how accurately he, personally, believes his book depicts the afterlife. Spoiler alert: In this interview, the plot of the book will be revealed, so attendees will most enjoy this event who have read Heaven Will Find You ahead of time. This event will end with Q&A with the audience.

This is a safe space for respectful open discussion of whatever Spirituality means to you. Open Spirituality has zero dogma or doctrine. It’s about a personal relationship with the Divine with zero requirements other than your intent to connect with like-minded people for stimulating conversation. Open Spirituality is a “non-religion.” It’s a place to share spiritual experiences and beliefs without a religious context. Religious contexts like churches, synagogues, mosques, and such are often the only place where people feel comfortable discussing spiritual concepts, but those places often feel artificially constrained once one has had an NDE or an STE. This group is for people who consider themselves spiritual but who may not be comfortable with traditional religions and religious beliefs and practices.
