Hear the story of an evangelical missionary who found his own path to spiritual freedom. Michael’s new perspective sets people free from fear, guilt, spiritual abuse, disillusionment, and religious misinformation. His perspective enables you to assess your own faith journey, what you may need to discard or rethink, and what new direction is best for you—either in your own walk or in your interaction with family and friends. Michael does not seek to convert anyone to a particular faith or non-faith, rather he strives to give you a toolbox of spiritual/historical implements so you can follow the evidence and your heart wherever they lead.

Are you questioning religion? Are you spiritual but not religious? Are you seeking a new perspective on the life and teachings of Jesus?

Hear the story of an evangelical missionary who found his own path to spiritual freedom. Michael’s new perspective sets people free from fear, guilt, spiritual abuse, disillusionment, and religious misinformation. His perspective enables you to assess your own faith journey, what you may need to discard or rethink, and what new direction is best for you—either in your own walk or in your interaction with family and friends. Michael does not seek to convert anyone to a particular faith or non-faith, rather he strives to give you a toolbox of spiritual/historical implements so you can follow the evidence and your heart wherever they lead.

Michael Camp is the author of 3 books: “Confessions of a Bible Thumper,” “Craft Brewed Jesus,” and his latest book, “Breaking Bad Faith.” In this interview, we will discuss Michael’s path to constructing his own personal theology after questioning his evangelical experience as a missionary. Michael researched the history of Christianity and the evangelical movement and came away with a new view of Jesus and true spirituality. He has been a featured guest on many programs.

His latest book, “Breaking Bad Faith” uncovers how bad faith—belief in a duplicitous, retributive, and violent god—is entrenched in today’s popular theology and American culture (it’s worse than you think). Using forgotten history, he exposes 12 myths most Christians believe and how entrenched violent retribution is in parts of the Bible and in the majority Christian worldview. It then shows us what matters most: Jesus’ subversive way of peace and restoration beyond religion. You’ll learn contemporary mind-blowing examples of how this path works, including many outside of Christianity. A perfect antidote for those deconstructing evangelical faith and encouragement for those yearning for a peaceable, historically honest path.
